]]> This summer, our DMC New York City team office headed to the Great White Way for an evening of music, teambuilding, and unconventional World War II history. Using the monthly Activity Fund budget for company-sponsored social outings, a group of us caught Operation Mincemeat on Broadway. It was a hit!

Selecting a Showstopper

As you might expect in NYC, theater outings are a popular option for our team to get together outside of work hours for Activity Fund events. Last year, we saw Little Shop of Horrors Off-Broadway, and the team was excited to spend another evening at the theater together. For this event, I did some research on four popular shows and polled the team to see which was the most popular. Operation Mincemeat was our winner.

Getting the Show on the Road

Before the show, we kicked off the evening with dinner and board games at the office. We chowed down on pizza and played a few rounds of the game Sushi Go! to unwind after the work day ended. DMC’s New York City office is located in Midtown Manhattan, a convenient walk to all of the action on Broadway. When we were ready for showtime, fourteen DMC team members and guests strolled over to the Golden Theatre together.

A Tough Act to Follow

Operation Mincemeat was an incredible show. We were lucky to see the original Broadway cast in this crazy-but-true story of a British World War II operation. The entire show was filled with laughter and great music. Tony Award winner Jak Malone’s emotional performance of the song “Dear Bill” was definitely the highlight of the night.

Our evening on Broadway perfectly embodied DMC’s core value of “Have Fun.” It was great to enjoy an evening of laughter and music together at an NYC institution.
